Test on hypodermic syringes to determine breakaway force, based on ISO 7886 and ISO 11040

This Zwick test device is used for determining the breakaway force and glide force of hypodermic syringes, carpules and similar drug-delivery systems. The glide-force test is based on the following standards: EN ISO 7886-1, EN ISO 11499 and ISO 11040-4.

An adjustable specimen-holder allows all common specimen geometries to be used, with stepless, tool-free adjustment via a handwheel to accommodate the specimen diameter.

Advantages/features of the test device for determination of breakaway force

  • Test device consists of a holding fixture below and a die above.
  • Includes a glass container to collect escaped liquids.
  • Swiveling guide-jaws with two different radii and for optimum guidance.
  • Die with concave seat ensures centering of syringe plunger customized mounts can easily be attached.
  • Device has apertures for visual monitoring of glide path.
  • Insertion and removal of specimens via a quick-release fastener allows specimen diameter setting to be maintained.
  • Carpule-holders optionally available for standard sizes 1.5ml and 3.0ml.
  • testXpert II enables direct connection to optional scales.
